Introduction: Control Your Android Device With a Wii Remote
Hey guys for my third instructable I'm going to show you how to control your android device with a wii remote
what you will need is
1x: wii remote
1x: android device
Step 1: Downloading the App
first of you need to go to google play and download an app called wiimote controller, the icon should be a wii remote
Step 2: Opening the App
next you then need to open the app once it has completely installed
Step 3: Connecting the Wii Remote
now to connect your wii remote you must have bluetooth enabled, enable bluetooth and then grab your wii remote and then to connect it press the button 1 and 2 and tap init and connect at the same time.
this may take a few minutes but when it is ready the player 1 LED should light up at the bottom of the remote
Step 4: Enabling the Wii Remote Buttons
now that your wii remote is connected tap on select wiicontrollerIME and three options will appear tap on wiicontrollerIME
Step 5: Success
there you have it a wii remote controlled portable game player
hope you guys like my third instructable up to date
this is one of my favourite instructables i have made so far
Note: not all features on some android devices will work on your wii remote

Although the wiimote is found when bluetooth is turned on, on my Samsung S2 galaxy, and I can pair to it (and the tablet knows what it is) the "Bluez IME" app cannot figure out that the device is known to the droid.
It does not work.

hmm strange It should work for most android devices

It only works on phones under Jelly Bean . Any thing above does not have the required Bluetooth stacks to pair wii motes

nice! Has there been any apps that turn your phone in to a wii mote? if you have ir blaster

The samsung s4 has a ir transmitter and can control tv but i dont know if it works with the wii

You would need an IR receiver (I think the HTC phones do these days, but Samsung [and most others] don't) as the Wii bar on top of your TV sends IR signals, not the other way around.
I haven't come across an app to do it, but then I haven't looked (and I have Samsung devices anyway which wouldn't work).

Hi Echo450, do you know if I can find the IR camera sensor separate from the wiimote ?

You might be able to, probably depends on which type of android software you have

Can you get this to control media? e.g. use it as play/pause, vol +, vol -, next track, last track?
