Introduction: How to Confiure More Than One VLAN and Connect Them Together.

The benefit from making vlan ( virtual area network ) is allow you to make so many network with Less price.
Uing cisco packet tracer.
Notice: the only people who stayed CCNA will understand the configuration.

Step 1: Puting Network ID and Ip Address.

To put an ip address to any PC:
1-Left click on PC.
2-Desktop.
3-IP configuration.

Step 2: Configuration Switch0 - VLAN.

Configuration:
Switch>enable
Switch#configure terminal
Switch(config)#vlan 10   (making a vlan ).
Switch(config-vlan)#name 10   (giving a name to vlan).
Switch(config-vlan)#exit
Switch(config)#vlan 20
Switch(config-vlan)#name 20
Switch(config-vlan)#exit
Switch(config)#vlan 30
Switch(config-vlan)#name 30
Switch(config-vlan)#exit
Switch(config)#vlan 40
Switch(config-vlan)#name 40
Switch(config-vlan)#exit

Step 3: Configuration Switchport Mode.

Configuration switchport mode:

Switch(config)#in fastEthernet 0/1
Switch(config-if)#switchport mode trunk   (trunk to allow all VLAN through from his port).

Switch(config)#interface range fastethernet 0/2-4    (allow you to configure port 2 to 4 together).
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport mode access     ( activation the port mode to access mode).
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport access vlan 10   (connect the swtich port from 2-4 with vlan 10).
Switch(config-if-range)#exit

Switch(config)#in range fastethernet 0/5-7
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport mode access
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport access vlan 20
Switch(config-if-range)#exit

Switch(config)#in range fastethernet 0/8-10
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport mode access
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport access vlan 30
Switch(config-if-range)#exit

Switch(config)#in range fastethernet 0/11-13
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport mode access
Switch(config-if-range)#switchport access vlan 40
Switch(config-if-range)#exit

Step 4: Configuration Router0.

Configuration:

Router>enable
Router#configure terminal
Router(config)#interface fastethernet 0/1
ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
Router(config-if)#no shutdown

Router(config)#interface fastethernet 0/1.10    (making a sub port or virtual port in port 0/1).
Router(config-subif)#ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0  (giving an ip address to the virtual port ).
Router(config-subif)#encapsulation dot1Q 10  (to connect the virtual port with vlan 10).

Router(config)#interface fastethernet 0/1.20
Router(config-subif)#ip address 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0
Router(config-subif)#encapsulation dot1Q 20

Router(config)#interface fastEethernet 0/1.30
Router(config-subif)#ip address 192.168.30.1 255.255.255.0
Router(config-subif)#encapsulation dot1Q 30

Router(config)#interface fastethernet 0/1.40
Router(config-subif)#ip address 192.168.40.1 255.255.255.0
Router(config-subif)#encapsulation dot1Q 40

Step 5: Testing the VLANs.

Send ICMP from PC2 to PC5.
