Introduction: Aquarium Gravel Cleaner

I was looking for a cheap way to clean the gravel in my fish tank. I wanted something inexpensive and also something fun to make!

Things you will need:

-   1 1/2" PVC Extension Tube (Treaded one side)

-   1 1/2" PVC Tubular tightener thing (Sorry don't know the name for it)

-   Tubing (Which ever size you prefer)

-  Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Lid

-   Drill+Bit (of desired thickness for tubing)
(Something to make a hole in Lid)

There are pictures for my bad job at explaining ;)

Step 1: Things Used

Things Used:

- 1 1/2" PVC Extension Tube (Treaded one side)

- 1 1/2" PVC Tubular tightener thing (Sorry don't know the name for it)

- Tubing (Which ever size you prefer)

- Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Lid

Step 2: Drilling the Lid

I used an Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice lid and it fit perfectly.

1) Drill the lid to the appropriate size of the diameter of your tubing.

For best results, use a small drill and work your way up.

Do not make the hole exactly the size of your tube or it will be loose.

2) Also, I had to trim away half of the lid in order for it to screw on to the tube.

3) Pop the lid inside the other piece.

Step 3: Tubing

Insert the tubing into the hole you just made. I have found that its best if you only insert the tube a little bit. The picture shows you.

ALMOST DONE!!

Step 4: Final Step

The final step is to screw on the tubing, lid, screw Tubular tightener to the extension tube.

Step 5: Final Product

Now you have a Gravel Cleaner that you made yourself with things laying around the basement, or off of a low budget. Have fun and tell me how you like it please.

Also I use it to fill up water for the tank as shown in the video.
