Ingredients:

4 Medium/Large Oranges or Grapefruits

1 Box Cake or Muffin Mix

Servings:4

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 15-20 Minutes

Note: If using cake mix you will be able to make more than four cake with one batch of mix. Muffin mix will make four. Your cake/muffin will take on a slight taste of the citrus you bake in.

Step 1:

Prepare the cake/muffin mix as instructed on the package and set aside.

Step 2:

Do Not Peel The Orange/Grapefruit!!!!!

Before cutting your fruit you want to use the half that connects to the tree {Stem} as your bottom.

On the opposite side of the stem cut off the top 1/3 of the orange/grapefruit and hollow out the fruit with a spoon. {This can be messy} and enjoy the fruit.

Note: When you remove the fruit there is going to be a center membrane were all the oranges slices meet in the middle coming down from the stem, do not rip this out take a paring knife and cut it out towards the bottom but not at the bottom to avoid cutting a hole.

Step 3:

Fill each of the bottoms of the fruit pieces 2/3rds of way with the cake/muffin mix and cover them with their matching pieces.

Step 4:

Place one closed orange/grapefruit on a sheet of foil and raise the foil up around the orange as tight as possible in the foil forming a handle. Remember to mark on the package what is inside with a permanent maker.

Step 5:

To cook your B.B.Q. Cakes & Muffins just place them directly on to the grill, campfire or in your fire pit and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Warning: Any food coming out of the fire or off the grill will be hot when you go to remove your food from the fire be sure to use something other than your bare hands to retrieve your meals like pot holders, a tea towel or tongs.
