OK this maybe served as an appetizer or as a side dish, anyway you want. but its guaranteed Yummy! i Love prawns..
Step 1: Ingredients
FOR THE PRAWNS -
500g of medium raw prawns peeled.
1tbsp Sesame oil
5 tbsp Vegetable oil
2 cloves of garlic peeled and finely chopped
1 inch piece ginger peeled and chopped
1 green chilli de-seeded and chopped
3 stems fresh coriander, leaves and stems chopped (i couldn't find any at the time, its for flavor and can be substituted with parsley)
FOR CHINESE DIPPING SAUCE -
3 tbsp Dark soy sauce
3 tbsp rice wine vinegar (if you cant find it skip it)
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 spring onions chopped with leaves
Step 2: Prawns (getting Ready)
First clean the prawns and remove the black vein along the back of the prawn with a sharp knife then add salt to the Prawns and set aside for 20mins,then pat dry and get ready for frying.
Step 3: The Sauce
While you have set the prawns aside for 20mins take a small dish to prepare the sauce, add all your ingreadients and beat with a fork so that all the flavours blend.
Step 4: Prawns (first Fry)
First add the sesame oil and vegetable oil to a wok and heat..then add the prawns and stir fry till its almost but not fully done, Do this in batches of 2 because its much easier, then remove the prawns from the oil, drain the oil so that one tablespoon quantity oil remains.
Step 5: Prawns (second Fry)
Now add the ginger, garlic and chilli and fry for about 25s, then add the Coriander (or parsley) and almost done prawns, Fry for about 1-2 mins so that the garlic is golden and the prawns are 100% done
Step 6: Serve Immediately
Now line up a plate with these prawns, keep the dish of dipping sauce and start selfishly grabbing for those yummy bite's , I didn't spend time decorating i just grabbed the first plate and dish and stacked them but you can be creative with it, post pictures in the comments with how your's came out...
