Grab some markers, and start drawing! Forget about liquid dyes that spill, hot glue guns, and running to the store to buy kits. Dig though your craft supplies, office supplies, or a child’s room to find some markers.

This craft isn’t just for Easter! The next time that you pack a lunch for someone, add a few notes to the eggshell packaging. Do you disagree on how eggs should be cooked? Mark the eggs “soft boiled” or “hard boiled”. Bored, while waiting for the bus? Draw a few masterpieces on your lunch eggs! Tired of having co-workers stealing your lunch? Put your name on some eggs.

Step 1: Prepare Your Supplies

For this project, you will need:

· Fresh eggs (actually, one week old eggs are easier to peel)

· A thin black permanent marker, and assorted color markers

For hard boiled eggs, put eggs in a cooking pan, and cover with several inches of water. Bring water to boiling (big bubbles on top of water). Cover pot tightly with a lid, turn stove off, and leave the pot on the burner for an additional 15 minutes (less for soft boiled eggs). Remove the eggs from the pot with a slotted spoon, and plunge the eggs into a pan of ice water for fifteen minutes to cool. Remove the eggs from the ice water, and dry the eggs with a towel.
