Here's an easy tutorial for a DIY wire-wrapped Evil Eye ring, if you don't have an Evil Eye bead any round bead or crystal will work. If you need more help be sure to check out the video.

Step 1:

Materials:
1 1/2-2 feet, 18-22 gauge wire
1, 10-15 mm round evil eye bead
Tools:
Wire cutters
Chain nose pliers
Ring mandrel or dowel
Optional:
Hammer for sizing and wire hardening.

Step 2:

Cut 1 1/2- 2 feet of wire, string on the bead and center it on the wire.

Step 3:

Wrap the wire around the ring mandrel in opposite directions at a size smaller than what you want to make, so for a size 7, wrap around size 6. Ensure that the wires are not crossing and are parallel.

Step 4:

Wrap one wire around the bead, then wrap the opposite wire around the bead the opposite way.

Step 5:

Continue to wrap alternate wires around the bead, framing it. Ensure that your bead is postioned the way you want it, readjust as necessary.

Step 6:

Continue wrapping around the bead leaving two tails long enough to wrap a few times around the base of the ring.

Step 7:

Wrap the leftover tail wires around the base of the ring on both sides, try to wrap even amounts on both sides of the ring.

Step 8:

Place ring back on mandrel and lightly tap with your hammer to stiffen the wire at the base of the ring, do not hammer the coils at the side or the front of the ring. Tap gently on the band of the ring guiding it down the mandrel until it reaches the size you desire.

Step 9:

Enjoy!
