K'NEX VINYL PLAYER

In this instructable i will show you how to build a vinyl player from K'NEX pieces.

Supplies

Some K'NEX pieces ( see the pictures );

Pickup needle with cartridge;

Headphones wire;

Pair of speakers ( to amplify the sound );

Some tools.

Step 1: Step 1: Building the Player Frame

Build the frame following the instructions in the video.

Step 2: Step 2: Connect the Cartridge

In order to amplify the sound from cartridge, we will need some wires and audio jack ( i just use the wires from old headphones ).

Because my cartridge is very old and it has only one channel ( MONO ), i connected the GND signal wires together, also the Left And Right signal wires together, in order to split the sound and make it to hear in both speakers.

Step 3: Step 3: Test the Sound

Connect the jack to speakers, put the vinyl track on place, turn on the K'NEX motor and put the needle cartridge down.

Because the cartridge i use is very old, the sound is not very clear.

To make the sound better, you need to use dedicated pickup cartridge preamplifier and also adjust the speed of motor to spin same rpm as track.
