Introduction: MAKE a Table Out of a Tree Stump

Making something out of nothing is always fun. Here in this instructable we’re taking an old tree stump that we removed out of our yard with a backhoe. With as much work as it took to get this tree stump out of the ground, it would be a shame to let this go to waste. With a chainsaw we transform this old stump into a coffee table with character. We will use a very large wooden nickel from an oak tree that fell through my parents house in hurricane Katrina. I think you will enjoy the process of this transformation into a usable piece of artwork.

Step 1: Find Your Stump

We uprooted a wild cherry stump. So lets make a table base out of it!!

Step 2: Chainsaw, Chainsaw, Chainsaw

And chainsaw, There is a lot of work to do with the chainsaw. Level the bottom and the top of the stump so it can sit flat and level! Make sure you have the proper safety equipment before using the chainsaw.

Step 3: Final Touch Up

Use a level to make sure you have it flat. Now lets put on the top

Step 4: Put on the Top

We are using a big wooden nickel that we got from a tree that fell thought my grandparents house and split it in two!! So now the top of our table has a story! It would be cool to use a glass top but we don't have one, but you could put one on yours!

Step 5: Finished

Now you have a table that you made from a tree stump!! Enjoy!! :)
