About: Hello, my name is Matthew, I have 9 siblings. I LOVE Woodworking (DIYing) and me and my family are the Galicinski Family Band. Me and my brother Micah love composing music, please check us out on youtube and s…

In this instructable I will show you how to make a candle with a wine glass.

Find a pic of a wine glass online and print it (or you can use the second pic) to be a guide or design.

Step 1: Rounding the Wood

After the wood is on the lathe start rounding it until it is a little thicker then you want the it to be.

Then put a mark at the bottom, and the end of the cup area(as shown in pic).

Step 2: Carving the Top

Follow your pic and carve the top.

Step 3: Carving the Inside

Move the tailstock and start carving the inside, go down as much as you want, just make sure you are following the outside of the wine glass.

Step 4: Carving the Outside

Now follow your design for the outside. I would recommend a small tool to do this work.

Step 5: BREAK IT!!!

(This is a OPTIONAL STEP)

If you like the Crack in the wood style then go ahead and make a crack with a chisel.

(my wine glass cracked by its self..)

Step 6: Sanding/Cutoff

Sand your work. Then cut it off with the parting tool.

Step 7: Heating Up the Wax

Melt some wax. After its done melting let it cool down.

Well you are waiting for it to cool down start the next step.

Step 8: Aluminum Foil

(This step is OPTIONAL UNLESS you have a crack)

Take the aluminum foil and tape one end to the wood (as shown in pic 2), then rap it intel you get to the crack then make a indent were the crack is (as shown in pic 3), then tape the end. I would recommend covering the whole thing with aluminum foil like the last pic.

Step 9: Putting the Wax in the Wine Glass

After the the wax is cooled down pour a tiny bit of the wax on to the crack, make sure that no wax gets on the outside of the wood then let it dry for a little. Then put the candlewick in and start slowly pouring the rest of the wax in to the wine glass and let it dry.

Step 10: Finished!!

You have finished!!!
