That's correct. Some "brands" are very cheap and therefore of questionable quality. You might try to harden the tip first and do a file test before. No guarantee but it might work... I guess I got lucky with mine...Thanks for the comment.Ed.

Might work, but keep in mind that a Tungsten rod is very hard and therefore very brittle as well.I think metal chips could break off at the point at any time...

Did you clean the zink off the zincor plate before welding? I thought that welding stuff like that caused toxic fumes...

Hey there also,The fact that I commented, has its origin in the pictures in step 6.The interested viewer sees that the nozzle of the straw accessory is pointed to the outside of the chain and to the center of the sprocket.I didn't mean any disrespect ( I *do* like your instructables ) but I think it would serve the potential-chain-cleaner better, would you have shown a picture where the straw is pointed to the inside of the chain and clearly targeted at the O-rings....And by the inside of the chain I mean that part of the chain between the front and rear sprocket closest to the ground.Please don't loose any sleep over it, I am a somewhat overreacting person when it concerns some details...Keep up the good work!Greets from Flanders..Ed.

Hello,I live in Belgium-Europe and almost every bicycle here has an axa lock mounted on the frame at the rear wheel. It is practically standard issue and - of course - you need a key to unlock it.Greetings :-)
