I should say that the screens have held up very well - I just roll them up and keep them in the hatch well. I use them even when I stop for a bit to watch a view and take a driving break. I made two individual ones for the driver side (the single unit works fine on the passenger side).
That is a great idea and the pockets would not have to be nearly 1" as the magnets are only .25" across. One or two quick stitches by hand and you would be done. Let me know how it comes out.I think you will find the excess netting is hard to manage if you leave it on to tuck in behind the door, but the magnetic tape might work - it tends to be very weak compared to these powerful little magnets but all you want is for the magnet to stick.
I am so glad to hear that you made them! welcome to the world of knitting :)
Sound yummy! Do you store the uneaten ones in the refrigerator? (if there are any left on the plate)

Yellow Crab Curry with Coconut
This sounds unbelievably delicious! Dungeness crab is one of my favorite foods! Added to my "try this" list.
Biryani is one of my favorite dishes, so I am definitely going to try your recipe. Coconut milk will give a nice rich taste to the whole dish.
While this may be yummy, it is hardly healthy! That coconut cream skimmed off the can is almost pure fat - yummy, smooth coconut fat to be sure, but still fat. Use this, but like any high fat food, use it sparingly!
I made it today! I used the same size shrimp as you did but I think I would use larger ones next time. The wrapper to shrimp ratio was a bit too heavy on the wrapper side for me. I could not find a nice spicy chili sauce, so I added a bit of sambol oelek to the boring sweet one they carry at my local store. Thank you for the recipe and inspiration!
There is something about butternut squash and coconut milk that is just perfect. I have a similar recipe that uses cilantro instead of ginger and curry that is one of my all time favorites. I may try your version next time!
Thank you Quaysera - too bad we can't combine our projects and use the whole coconut!
It would be fun to make a bunch of these in advance for a tropical party! Probably have to borrow space in the neighbor's fridge though. Did you let them freeze or just get REALLY cold?
What a clever idea with the pineapple flowers - I thought they were real flowers and had to check your instructions for what you used. This is a true summer favorite in the southern US and you really spiffed it up!
The top one with the fork sticking in his mouth really made me laugh! This is so clever and fun. I like the hint about waiting until the coconut meat is desiccated. I would have been hesitant to try cleaning the meat out of a fresh coconut. I might go for a bright LED lamp too - much small and easier after I see what you had to go through. Hmmm . . when is my next tiki themed party? I reallly like this and you got my vote!
Your presentation is beautiful and these sound yummy! I think I could make them from your instructions - and I just might!
