despite my negligence in helping more, did you make any progress?nonostante la mia negligenza nell'aiutare di più, hai fatto progressi?
Fine! I'll make an attempt to redo it. After, what 8 years, you'd think I'd find some time.... Thanks for the motivation

It has been a long time indeed. Last I checked, Fusion 360 is free under certain conditions (student, startup, and so on). I should redo this in that software, though the two are very similar, with autodesk fusion 360 being the upgrade. Alternatively, you could send me what you want and I could make that into the tutorial. My email is username @ gmail.Attached are some newer examples
Getting the shadow edges sharp when the light source is fuzzy or very close to the sculpture is tricky, but can be improved by making the walls thicker. The dull edges in these pictures are mostly from my grainy out of focus camera camera. The effect is so much better by eye.

hmm. As I currently use Fusion 360 almost exclusively, that seems like a good idea. Is this for something specific you are trying to do? I've made other items since then and have discovered a few more details that impact success, but I don't know that I can commit tremendous time to another instructable right now. Could interact with you directly in the meantime though. Would make for a better instructable in the future that ways as well.see attached images for a puzzle I made for someone. when the blocks are not rotated or placed on the wrong posts, the shadow is garbled. Here it shows 825. The "simple" blocks are disguised and tricky to predict the shadow when looking at them individually.
Slipcasting aka Making Copies! - 3D Print > Plaster Molds > Ceramics
Rush job (night before the wedding), but the results were good enough to receive a "wow" from the bride, showing off her new last name. The images aren't great because of the small size of the "charm" and the camera depth of focus.
