you have to take Into consideration ..Inrush currents ,Ground fault currents , And charge controller failure ...to protect wiring and the batteries .. Batteries can in fact produce HUGE ground fault currents ..And if it’s wired this way you can change out the charge controller to a 30 Amp without changing all your wiring ..

This is a typical Security PIR it doesn't supply voltage to the Wires that comes from the security panel there is just typically just 1 NO 1 NC and a common ..I'm posting a full instructable on Friday to totally do away with the Security panel and utilize a raspi and some particles to do the same thing ..

there is also a good tutorial with a bit different setup with a great mqtt and rrd4j as well as auto start in a bit different config at http://www.homeautomationforgeeks.comGood start though

Pretty Good Instructable ..Question why are you using the MQTT maps and rules ..in the OpenHab..Wouldn’t a standard MQTT reporting work just as well and be a little less complicated ..Like the sitemap File would just have one line Text item = officemotion Item file Number Officemotion "Office Motion [%.2f]" (Alarms) {mqtt<[mymosquitto:mosquitto/MyHouse/OffMot:state:default"}That’s all I’m using Then I just subscribe to the MQTT ..With Node Red and send it off to my Particle subscribe ..And activate an alarm ..Works pretty good ..Or am I missing something

no problem ..thinking of getting some of these lights myself ..But I have a 120 Board I want to try out on lights ..As long as I’m running LEDs I can switch as many as I want ..Problem being an Electrician ..My house is wired for bear ..Went through 2000 feet of cat6 1000’ of Security wire all for 1200sqf house lol
View Instructable »Oh ok I had another look at your drawing you turned all your switches into low voltage switches.. That'll drive your wife nuts ..How are you powering your Lights ?? What you can do is cut in a 2 gang box above your switch about 6" above it on the side where you have the stud ..run a 3 wire power wire from your existing 3 gang Black = Hot Red = Switch leg from relay White is neutral for Your node ..and put your NodeMCU into the 2 gang and relay it from there that way you wont have the extension cord setup behind your food and a blank cover over your new switch box..I designed a Particle Relay board that runs off 120Volts and can switch 120 as well ..I have some gerber files if you want to try it out .

Not bad ..Small problem ..In some cases the Neutral is actually used to counteract the the emf forces going through the Hots ..This could cause a fire if the Wires start to heat up due to emf forces (Magnetic Electomotive Force).. That’s why when running wires in Pipes you don’t run all the same phases in one pipe you mix them along with Neutrals and grounds ..They counteract them selves ..Please be careful ..Good idea though
View Instructable »please email me ..directly might have an option for you for using power and not neutrals to use as a power run

Dude ..you put it on the floor of your furnace or water tank room to alert you about water leaks from pipes ,hot water tanks, it’s also got a temperature sensor to alert you about Freezing in the house ..very handy if you live in a place that freezes ..

the wiring is rated for 30 amps ..It's better to go a size larger then smaller ..Depending on short circuit protection ,Load ,etc ..
