No, the point is that this is a shop staple tool that has a spot, & now there are zero, not 1 or 2 hooks to aim for when hanging, or to pull up-out-and-lose, or to stick out in the way. Either 45 side down, drop it in.I'm tired of seeing one negative comment on fresh posts- this is a community about constructing, I scroll to the comments to read constructive commentary. Thanks for posting this quick tip! At $0, it pays for itself every time you use it! I have yards of seat belt, this is a good idea for tools that have a home, & you can fit it to everything from your lucky pencil to a power tool. Keep sharing, we appreciate you taking the time.

Here's a thought for keeping accurate time once you incorporate a RTC. Let the stepper program run as is, & once a day the real time clock tells it to recalibrate physically by running each gear forward until it triggers a reference physically on the wheel. Perhaps a pin on the back of the gear that hits a momentary switch. This will correct one day's worth of drift. If the clock is running slow, advancing to the correct time should just be a small movement. To eliminate even that small moving delay as time drift, set the gears to referenced time ahead of time, & hold until RTC hits reference time. Thanks for sharing, great project!

I like finding building tips in projects that apply to other projects- great idea, bicycle inner tubes as clamps! I already use them as pads on vices & pliers, thanks for the suggestion.

Neat idea, thanks for sharing. Fun fact, did you know nobody has been making floppies, & there is a big 2nd hand market for people needing them? A lot of old, important hardware, from air traffic control to industrial process machines use them.
