In my youth I adapted my film camera to a pinhole camera, I made a small hole on camera body protector cap and put it on, worked good. I wish I could do that now, but when my digital camera doesn't see a lens gets upset......

I know this is a couple of years too late, but I bought a 9x12 tile, I figure that was baked at more then 1200 degrees, so I work on it and bake piece right on it. a lot of times I do multiple bakes on one piece, so I want to buy a second tile so I don't have to wait to finish baking and cool down.

They look really great! Have you ever thought of using ground rod for the tips? They are about 1/2" diameter, solid copper. Would last, probably need less then 2".

Nice work. Basically that's how it's done. I did it for many years. If you ever have to do it again, try snapping tube supports to glass, make sure the bases of supports lay flat on acrylic, once all look good put glue on supports and lay neon in place again, make sure all bases have full contact to acrylic, let dry and you ready for wiring. My grandfather in the picture.
