Introduction: Adorable Sock Snowman

About: All or nothing!

Merry Christmas! In this Instructable I will be teaching you how to make a snowman Christmas decoration in only about 10 to 15 minutes. You also get to get rid of the single white sock you have in your sock drawer! In my opinion, that's a pretty good Christmas present...

To make this Instructable, you will need :

  • 1 white long sock
  • 1 black child's sock
  • a piece of colorful fabric long enough to wrap around a sock
  • 2 buttons
  • small pieces of orange and black/brown fabric
  • 2 to 3 cups of rice
  • rubber bands
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun (or liquid glue)
  • funnel (optional)

Step 1: Sock

Cut the white sock about two inches above the heel, then fill it with rice. You can use a funnel if you want to. I did. Place a rubber band a little ways down from the top to separate the head from the body. Now close off the top of the head with another rubber band and cut off the excess sockness.

Step 2: Scarf and Hat

Take your strip of brightly colored fabric and tie it around the neck of the snowman. Then take the black sock and cut about two inches below the heel. Stuff this on the head to cover up the tie you made at the top and to keep your snowman warm.

Step 3: Facial Features and Tummy Buttons

Now it's time to make your snowman look like it should be in the snow. With the brown and orange scraps of felt, cut out a nose and eyes. l made two sets of eyes, one set that is squinting and one that is staring. l ended up using the squinting set because it looks cuter. Next, get two buttons, one larger than the other and figure out where you are going to glue them on the snowman.

Step 4: Glue It All On

Now, glue it all on. After you glue it all on, step back and enjoy your decoration! Thanks for reading this Instructable and hope you enjoyed!
