Introduction: Bloody Bottle Charm *Easy DIY*

About: Hiya. I like macrame, cats, dogs, horror movies, making things, breaking things, cake pops & music. I am home schooled due to chronic illness, so if I don't come on here much that is why.

Ever noticed in movies that  the crazy mass murderer normally has glass bottles with hearts, brains and various body parts in?

Well, I wanted one. Not wanting to commit murder before I'm out of high school, I decided to do the next best thing and make one out of a few bits of cotton, some nail polish and a bottle charm - Close enough!

Easy to do, cheap and quick, and the best part is not risking spending the rest of your life in prison. win win!

Hope you find this instructable helpful- Enjoy!

Step 1: Materials:

  • Bottle Charm (avaliable online or in crafts stores)
  • Cotton Buds
  • Cotton Pads
  • Nail Polish, Lip Tints, Acylic Paints or whatever you have that will create a realistic "blood" effect. I used a mixture of nail polish and a lip tint.
  • Scissors
  • Charm attachment
  • Round nose pliers / flat head pliers
  • *optional* Superglue or strong glue (Not shown)
You can buy the bottle charms here~ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EMPTY-GLASS-BOTTLE-CORK-charm-PENDANT-kitsch-FILLABLE-/160642994928?pt=UK_Jewellery_Watches_CostumeJewellery_CA&var=&hash=item6b1c4b378e#ht_4219wt_1270

Step 2: Prepare the Blood

Start the "bloody" mixture.

Firstly, I poured in red nail polish, then a small amount of lip tint to give a glossy finish and a drop of purple/black nail polish to darken it. You can use anything you like, food dye, acylic paint, nail polish, even lip tints! Just play about untill you are happy with the colour and effect.

Step 3: Mix!

Slide the cotton buds into the bottle and mix the "blood". Repeat with a few cottons buds, storing the used ones on a cotton pad (you need them later!)

Step 4: Adding the Body Parts

Time to add the "body parts" grip the Sissors around the cotton bud where the cotton joins the tube. Place the cotton bud so that when you cut it, it will fall straight into the bottle- you dont want to be picking up gooey bits of cotton and trying to push them into a tiny glass bottle!

Step 5: Finishing Touches

Push the cotton bud into the bottle with the remaining tube, then mix to coat everything together. Repeat with the cotton bud "organs" untill you are happy with the effect it gives.

Wipe on a little Super Glue or any strong glue around the cork of your charm, then firmly push into the bottle to keep everything secure.

(I wasn't happy with the colour of the "blood" so I added a little more purple to make the perfect colour. Don't worry if the colour isn't perfectly mixed- blood isn't perfect and would dry out and clot against the bottle.)

Step 6: Add the Charm

Attach the phone charm  to the lid of the bottle. You could always attach it to a necklace, bracelet, bag charm- not just a simple phone charm.

Step 7: You Are Done!

How simple and effective is this quick, creepy craft!

Works well for Halloween to add in the party bags (or even my Halloween party basket, here! https://www.instructables.com/id/Easy-Halloween-Basket-Decoration/ ) or if you are just like me, and like creepy jewellery.
