Introduction: Chick PomPoms

About: The Community Environmental Trust is an environmental organisation (charity) based in North Birmingham, UK. CET delivers community based environmental projects.

Make your own chick. Perfect for Easter or to help teach about birds. Fun and easy to do.

Supplies

Wool,

Fork,

Scissors,

Paper,

Pencil crayons,

Glue/tape.

Step 1: Main PomPom

Wrap around a fork until it looks like this.

Step 2: Keeping It Together (Legs)

Put a longer piece of wool through the centre gap in the fork underneath the wool you just wrapped. This will later become the legs.

Step 3: Tie Knot

Tie a knot around the wrapped wool. Make sure this is done very tightly so it doesn't fall apart later.

Step 4: Remove Fork

Take the wool off the fork and make sure the knot is tight, doubling up for extra security.

Step 5: Cutting the PomPom

Carefully cut the two sides of the pompom, where it has looped. After doing the cutting you may need to 'fluff' up the pompom.

Step 6: Make a Face

Using paper and pencil crayons, create your face; including eyes and a beak. Cut it out.

Alternatively you could use googly eyes.

Step 7: Stick on the Face

Use glue or tape to affix the face to the body.

Step 8: Complete

You have now finished your cute little PomPom Chick. Are there other animals you could create?
