Introduction: Coffee Cup Cat Treat Toy
I have 2 cats, and like to think of ways to keep them (and me) entertained. I am also a coffee drinker (more fun kitty playtime), and like to enter contests (also fun!). So here is my Coffee Cup Cat Treat Toy Instructable. Enjoy!
Step 1: Materials
2 same-sized used paper coffee cups
Butter knife
Small scissors
Glue
Thick rubber band (inside left cup)
2 stubby unsharpened pencils or similar sticks (inside right cup)
Cat treats

Step 2: Prepare Cups
Rinse and dry the 2 coffee cups.
Already my cat Ting is getting excited with me!
A new toy- wow!
Step 3: Stab Cups
Using a butter knife, poke an X through the bottoms of the cups, pushing from the inside of the cups to the outside.
Step 4: Cut Cups
Cut the flaps off the Xs to form a square-shaped opening in the bottom of each cup. The squares should be fairly large. I had to trim each flap several times to make the 2 squares. They don’t have to be perfectly square.
Step 5: Glue Cups
Glue the top cup rims together and let dry. I also put an extra ring of glue around the glue seam once it dried.
My cat Stubby inspects my handiwork.

Step 6: Thread Cups
Thread the rubber band through the holes and secure with the pencils or sticks.
Step 7: Fill Cup
Carefully pour a handful of cat treats into the toy.
Step 8: Play With Cat(s)!
Play with your cats(s) by taking turns rolling the toy on the floor. Ting is taking a breather, but now Stubby can’t resist getting in on the action. Your kitties may take some time warming up to the toy, but once the treats start popping out- look out!
Please rate me 1 – 5 stars if you are so inclined! Thanks!

Easy to construct from readily available material. Our cat loved it & is still playing with it as I write.
