Introduction: Crispy Oven Fried Chicken

Preheat the oven 400°.

Cut 1 chicken into serving pieces and pat dry.

Season both sides of the chicken scallion pepper and garlic salt.

In a food storage bag combine:

1 cup flour

1 tablespoon Hungarian Sweet Paprika, to taste

1 tsp. Season Salt, to taste

1 tsp. Shallot Pepper Seasoning, to taste

1 tsp. Fox Point Seasoning, to taste

Seal the bag and shake to combine the spices with the flour.

Add chicken a few pieces at a time, shaking bag to evenly coat the chicken. Set aside.

Put 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup Cisco shortening in a shallow baking pan; place in oven to melt. When butter and shortening are melted, arrange chicken in the baking pan in a single layer, skin side down.

Bake at 400° for 30 minutes; then turn the chicken over and bake another 15 minutes longer, or until chicken is tender and done.

Recipe serves 4.
