Introduction: D I Y Paper Earring
If you want a low cost admirable gift for some one .....here it is ...
Step 1: Supplies
Newspaper
Binder gum
Water
Scissor
Round Nose plier
A pair of earing hooks
2 small piece wire -not in pic
A thick sewing needle
Thin Painting brush
Favicryl colours
3D glitter color - tube
Perl drop color - tube/Pen
Sorry about the poor quality pictures :(
Step 2: Cut
Cut the news paper in small pieces. Mix a little bit binder gum (about 1 table spoon)with water and soak the news paper pieces for a couple of hours.Drain the water and grind it to a paste. The paper pulp should not be watery.
Step 3: Make Balls
Using your hands make small balls. The size of the ball is up to you.If you want you can make different sizes.Dry them until they are stiff.I kept them to dry over night.
Step 4: Make Loop
With the nose plier make a tiny loop with wire and twist the ends together.Insert the pin on the paper ball to make a thin hole.Since the paper ball is well dried, you will find it a bit hard to prick,so do it carefully with out breaking the ball..Dip the twisted loop in binder gum and insert the loop right in.Leave it to dry over night or couple of hours until it is well dried ..Don't worry once it dries it is very hard.
Step 5: Paint
Paint the Paper balls. There again it needs to be dried completely. You can add the loop and paint the balls or paint and add the loop.I have done both ways, and prefer to add the loop and then paint.
Decorate the way you want.I used 3D color tube and perl pen to drop the dots. This looks really amazing with a glitter effect.
Step 6: Attatch Hook
Last of all attatch the earing hook and admire your D I Y Jewellery.
