Introduction: DIY Beaded Hair Comb

Find out how easy it is to make this colorful hair comb with a video tutorial. Plus a tip to strongly glue metal pieces.

You can also read and see the step-by-step pictures bellow.

Step 1: Cut and Sand

First of all, since my hair comb piece was slightly bigger than the charm I wanted to use, I cut it using a plier and sanded the rough edge, I also sanded the center a bit to give the glue a better surface to hold on to.

Step 2: Glue It

Had to test different types of glue to see which one could hold both metal pieces together and the one that worked out better was this epoxy putty, very simple to use, just put on some gloves to protect your hands, cut a slice out of it, and mix it until it has an even shade of light blue. This starts to dry quickly, so once you mix it place it on the pieces, and let it dry for a couple of hours.

Step 3: Paint and Add the Dome

I decided to paint the center of my charm with a pink to blue ombre, but of course, there are a lot more possibilities, you can even place a picture inside or glitter.

Add the dome by placing clear glue around the edges and press it in place.

Step 4: Add the Beads

For the beaded part, take a headpin, cut it a bit before the end, add a bead, bend the pin in a 90º degree angle and make a loop in the opposite direction.

Attach the loops to a 9 cm piece of chain.

Step 5: Attach All Together

Cut another 12 cm piece of chain and attach all the pieces to the charm using jump rings.

Step 6: That Is It!
