Introduction: DIY Bride Guide: Music Themed PlaceCards
Hi! I'm a DIY Bride and things are moving so quickly. I wanted to make some nice simple place cards to go with a music theme. These were simple to make, which is great, since I have a ton of them to make.
Step 1: Materials
I choose two contrasting colors as my base for the place cards. Then I needed a glue stick, a ruler, scissors, and some sharpies. I picked up a cornering punch from the scrap-booking aisle at my local craft store. Then, the cornerstone of this music themed place card - old music sheets! My best friend picked these up from a garage sale a while back thinking they would be super cute.
Step 2: Base
First, make your base. I choose the darker color on this one. Measure 3-1/2" x 4" and cut.
Fold hot dog style, long ways. Be careful, you may want to measure it. 3-1/2" looks very similar to 4".
Step 3: The Music Theme
Next, with the music sheets, measure, mark, and cut a 3-1/2" x 2-3/4" rectangle.
Note- I used the corner of the sheet, some I'm missing some of the music bars. However, this is because I'm making a ton of these and needed the entire sheet. Feel free to move your rectangle around to get more music notes.
Step 4: The Final Touch
Using your final color (I choose a lighter one) measure, mark, and cut a 1" x 3" rectangle.
Then, using the cornering punch, punch two corners opposite on one another.
Step 5: Assemble
Glue together! I used stick glue, which worked wonderfully. I've had issues with liquid glue in the past, so I tend to stay away from it. It has a habit of wetting the paper too much and creating spots in the final look.
Layer your place card with a base, music sheet, and the final touch.
Then, write your table numbers and names and your done!
I hope that this is a simple project for you and adds beautifully to your wedding.
