DIY Cardboard Glider

Hello, today I'll show you how to make a glider from cardboard, yes thats right from cardboard. This project is super easy, fun and low cost, you won't need any speacial engineering skills or knowledge about aerodynamics to make it. Just follow my instructions and you will make your very own glider.

Step 1: Materials & Tools for the Project

We will need:

Oxy-propane torch, to cut out the aluminium parts ... wait a minute, we are going to make a cardboard glider not an airliner. And so we will need:

1. Cardboard
2. Scissors
3. Mechanical pen or simple pen
4. Ruller
5. Marker
6. Coin (a quater doller is enough heavy)
7. Duct tape

Step 2: Prepare Different on Size Cardboard Pieces

Take the cardboard and cut out 3 rectangles with the following sizes:

• 45mm X 200mm - for the body
• 45mm X 70mm - for the horizontal stabilizer
• 45mm X 300mm - for the main wings

Step 3: Draw and Cut the Body, H Stabilizer, and the Wings

Take the pen / mechanical pen and ruller then draw the body, wings and the H stabilizer( you can get the sizes from the photos above).

The main wing is 300mm long, 35mm wide in the middle and 30mm wide in the both ends.

Cut them with scissors and move on the next step.

Step 4: Combine the Parts

Now it's time to combine the parts together into a glider. Make connections on them, with the scissors, so you can easily connect them together.

Bend the wing as shown on the photo above and tape the coin at the nose of the glider, the coin will act as weight.

If you want you may cut a hook on the bottom of the body, so you can lauch the glider with a rubber band also use the marker to decorate you glider.

Step 5: You Are Done, Go Out and Have Fun !

You are done, go out and have fun with you new glider made out of cardboard !
