Introduction: DIY Elastics for Masks
I read yesterday, that elastics for masks are hard to get. I am hoping, that by posting it here, every sewer in need will find this simple alternative. Here is a trick from my granny:
Cut up old nylon tights!
Take a pair of nylons/tights and cut of one leg. Keep cutting (about1/2 inch wide) until you reach the toe. Pull and the nylon will roll up into itself. It will be like T-shirt yarn only a lot thinner and more elastic. It is also quite soft on the skin.
I also attached a video, it is not the best but I hope it will be easy to follow.
Keep sewing everyone and stay safe!

It probably is great, but the fact you make me download a large file in order to learn how to do it makes it instantly inaccessible to me and many others like me. But then, you all probably have funds to be on iPhones and such. So you are making this for a target audience even without realizing it. Many others are doing the same. I'm favoriting this so if I find a way to watch your movie I will.
I'm sure it is worth watching, given the description you've provided.
Thanks anyway.

Why do I make you download a great file?
Can you not see the explanations without downloading the video? That would be bad!
The video is only extra information for people who can‘t follow my explanations. You only see me cutting. If you understand my explanations you don‘t need to watch it at all. All you need to know to follow the instructions is written down im my first step.
I am sorry you feel that I am targetting a certain audience. I just wanted to help.

The explanation does the trick for me. Thanks. Wish I had read this when I couldn't get elastic. How long will it stay stretchy, do you know?
