Introduction: DIY Spy Tape

About: I love to make a LOT of crafts at home or school. My favorite special in school is art and gym, my favorite subjects are literacy, reading, and science. What I want to be when I grow up is a computer engineer.…

Hi guys, today I am making a little something called spy tape, This tape is not actually tape but, is paper rolled in a empty roll of tape. We used a plastic tape roll and dispenser because the cardboard one is not really stable. I hope you enjoy this craft.

Step 1: Materials

You will need for this project:

  • Empty tape roll
  • Empty tape dispenser
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Paper
  • Permanent markers (OPTIONAL)

Step 2: Let's Get Started

First take the empty tape roll and measure the width of it on a piece of paper. Make sure you repeat this step until you use the whole piece of paper. Then cut strips out of the marks that you make.Take the strips of paper and start to tape it together. It should look something like in the photo, a long strip of paper. Now take the pieces of strips and tape one end to the tape roll and start rolling it until the paper is done.

Step 3: All Done!!!

If you want to color the tape dispenser, you should color it on the outside because it's to hard to color it inside, but it is your choice. If you do want to color on the inside then I suggest you do that before you before you put the tape roll in . Now take the tape roll and start putting it in the place where the tape roll is supposed to go. Take a little bit of spy tape and tape it to the part where the sharp part of the tape dispenser is. Now your spy tape is ready!!!

Step 4: BONUS PART!!!

Now I am doing a bonus part of spy tape and you will need for this bonus part is:

  • Spy tape
  • A pen
  • Tape
  • Cup of water *

*We forgot to put the water in the picture but you will need it.

For the first part, take a little bit of spy tape and write any kind of note you want. When you are done then add tape on it. Dip the paper with the tape and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. After 5 to 10 minutes, scratch off the paper and then you will see your note! This is a better way of hiding notes so people won't get suspicious with you. But it is also time consuming.
