Introduction: DIY Wall Hanging Headboard

About: Interior Design, Home Decor, Lifestyle and DIY blog

This headboard is very easy to make if you are familiar with sewing. The supplies are cheap, and if you choose and eye-catching fabric, you can give your bedroom an instant and inexpensive lift.

Supplies

  • approximately 200 x 130 cm of the fabric of your choice (for the bed of 180 cm width)
  • wadding or other filling
  • curtain rod (I got mine at IKEA),
  • sewing machine,
  • tape measure

Step 1: Step 1: Cutting

Cut two large rectangles measuring 104 X 74 cm for cushions that will measure 50 X 70 cm. Fold fabric in two: finished cushions will have no seam on the bottom.

Step 2: Step 2

Cut the strips - you will need 5 pieces of fabric measuring 22 x 11 cm. Fold the strips lengthwise and iron them properly.

Step 3: Step 3

Sew each strip lengthwise and turn it inside out so that the seam is hidden inside. Fold the strips and attach 5 of them to each of the cushions – they need to be attached to the backside of the pillow so that when you turn it out they will be on the top front side. Sew each pillow along its perimeter leaving at the end a little hole for filling - 5 cm should be enough.

Step 4: Step 4

Fill the pillow with waddling and sew the hole manually at the end trying to make it as invisible as possible.

Step 5: Step 5

Insert the curtain rode inside the strips and attach it to the wall.

Step 6: The Headboard Is Finished!
