Introduction: Eyes of Medusa

About: Hi! I am Klinong, that is how my loving family calls me, except my brother, he calls me Krinyol, as I have silly curly hair :) I love Instructables for forever now, especially for the contests ha-ha!, but I …

You can add food coloring to your dough or leave it as is. And for more reddish eyes, use Maraschino cherries. However, the flavor would be different, just FYI :)

Step 1: Dough

Beat until mixed and fluffy:

200 g butter/margarine

200 g sour cream

60 g sugar

In a glass/cup/bowl, mix the following, then beat into margarine:

1 tsp baking soda

1 tbsp white vinegar

Once solution is mixed, beat in

400-500 g flour (usually I only use about 455 g)

Divide dough into 10 portions, flatten into disk and wrap with cling wrap. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour.

Step 2: Filling and Decoration

600 g frozen dark sweet pitted cherries, thawed and drained, keep chilled in fridge

Roll each dough and line about 9-10 cherries on dough, roll

Place filled dough on a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper

Bake on preheated 350 F for 15 mins, then turn sheet around for even baking, and bake for another 5-8 minutes

Take out and cool on room temperature

Meanwhile, make Medusa's hairs

Melt about 1/2 c green candy melts/chocolate wafers

Pour melted choc into ziplock bag and snip the corner

Pipe curls (as snakes) on parchment paper lined baking sheet and chill in the fridge to harden, for 10 minutes at least

Step 3: Eyes of Medusa

Once cooled, prepare whipped cream, either using powder and milk or heavy cream/whipping cream, to your liking

Spread some whipped cream on serving plate and place 4 rolls. Spread cream on those rolls and stack 3 rolls above it, then cream, 2 rolls, then cream and last roll. You are creating a pyramid shape.

Cover the whole with whipped cream and chill in the fridge for at least 3 h

Decorate with curls/snakes, slice and enjoy :)
