Introduction: French Onion Cheese Chicken With Butter Thyme Rice
Have you had those experiences where just by reading or hearing the name of a dish, your mouth starts watering? Well, this is one of those dishes! Ready? French onion cheese chicken with butter thyme rice, I'm sure you're feeling hungry already! A one pan fulfilling pot meal! So let's get started...
1) Chicken (breast pieces boneless)
2) Sliced Onions
3) Sticky Rice
7) Grated Cheese
8) Grated Ginger
9) Corn flour/starch
12) Chopped Chilies (optional)
13) Red Chili powder (optional)
Step 1: Gather Ingredients
It is essential to gather the ingredients and be ready to start cooking for a smooth process. Slice the onions and chopped chilies if required. Wash the boneless chicken pieces thoroughly and dry them.
Step 2: Marinate the Chicken
Apply some herbs or thyme on the chicken. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Marinate for 40 minutes to 1 hour.
Step 3: Heat the Pan
Take a big pan and heat it. Add some butter and let it melt. Then place the marinated chicken on the pan. Cook for about 20 minutes and make sure to flip the chicken. Remove the chicken from the pan and place it aside.
Step 4: Sticky Rice
Take some more butter in the pan. Add cooked sticky rice and mix well. Add thyme for flavor and mix well. Remove the rice from pan and keep in bowl.
Step 5: French Onion Sauce
In the same pan, add butter or olive oil. Once heated, add the sliced onions and chilies (optional). Saute them till turned browish. Now add water. Add a tablespoon of cornflour for thickening, ginger and salt as per taste. Addition of red chili powder is optional. Mix well and bring it to boil. Add the semi cooked chicken ans place in the sauce. Let it cook for 10 mins or more. Add grated cheese on the chicken pieces.
Step 6: Ready!
Voila! One pot meal is ready. Place the chicken in a bowl with some sauce, add the butter thyme rice on top of it and more sauce. You can arrange vice versa too! A tasty fulfilling meal is ready to be served hot in a bowl. Happy Cooking!
