Introduction: ~Fruity Tooties~

About: I am a Family and Consumer Science teacher at a school in Scranton, PA. My students create Instructables of the recipes we make in class.
  • This recipe is a fruity blast of goodness! It includes; juicy pineapple, scrumptious strawberries, exotic kiwi, WAWAWAWAwatermelon, and a little bit of juice. This recipe is great for those spicy summer days. You can easily put this together for wonderful picnics in the park with the fam. All it takes is a few things, a freezer, some cups and sticks... Wooden, of course! The steps to this recipe are fun and easy. Even the kids will want to make and eat this!

Step 1: Fill Your Cups With the Juice of Your Choice

Create the base for your Fruity Tooties with either pineapple or orange juice. We chose orange juice because the pineapples were already included. Fill up a measuring cup with 3 tablespoons with the juice of your choice and then finally add it to your 5 oz. cups.

Step 2: Add Your Kiwi!

You better have a cutting board and a knife handy because were finally ready to start the recipe. Okay, so first you start cutting off the brown of your kiwi. Second, you cut up the kiwi into small little squares and add two to each cup of juice. And that is the end of your second step!

Step 3: Cut Up Your Watermelon

Get your cutting hands ready again because this is going to be the hardest step! First, start off with the full watermelon, cut it in half so you can save the rest for another time. Use the full half of the watermelon and cut out little squares to add to your cups of juice. If you would like, you can add more.. Just so it doesn't overflow!

Step 4: Add Your Strawberries

Now it's time to add the strawberries! Begin by putting the strawberries into a strainer and running them under cold water to wash. Cut off the tops of them, so that the leaves are gone from here. Cut the strawberries into small little pieces and finally add them to your cups of juice. Your almost done, keep going!

Step 5: Add Your Pineapple

Here is the last fruit you add to your cups, pineapple! This step is very easy, just scoop out your pineapple into little spoons and add it. The pineapple can be sour so add to your liking!

Step 6: Add More of Your Juice

Were almost done! Whatever juice you chose, fill your cups up with it. Fill the juice up to your liking (preferably the top)... But not too much!

Step 7: Add the Sticks

Take one stick and add it to each cup, sticking it through the middle of the fruits. And then your last step is to put them in the freezer for about 24 hours. Now were all done! See wasn't it easy and fun?! It's a quick snack for all ages and we hope you enjoy! This snack may be very healthy but I'm sure the kids will love it! The nutrients are; Vitamin D in your juice, vitamin C in strawberries and kiwi, vitamin A in watermelon and vitamin B in pineapple. Watermelon is very low in saturated fats, cholesterol and sodium.
