Introduction: How to Decorate a Breyer Horse Barn

About: I love horses, polar bears, and Harry Potter!
I will show you a few ideas of how to decorate and make your Breyer horse barn more realistic.

Step 1:

You can create a pasture or paddock behind the barn to make it look bigger and so your horses have a place to roam freely. Just take a fence like I have in the picture, and you can tie a few hay bags to the fence so the horses can munch on a yummy snack.

Step 2:

You can also have a tack room for saddles, bridles, blankets, etc. I just made my tack room out of Popsicle sticks. Then fill it with saddles and your barn will look professional!

Step 3:

You can make a bulletin board inside the barn by taking a square of cork and attaching it to the wall, then making little signs to hang on it.

Step 4:

For horse feed, put some dry oatmeal in a small bucket to put in the barn. If you have feed boxes you can also put the oats in the feed boxes. You can put some mini hay bales around the barn too.

Step 5:

For more space to hang bridles, lead rope, and lassos, I glued some mini wooden dowels on the wall of the barn.

Step 6:

You can also take an old necklace chain and cut it to the length of your choice and tie it to the stall door for a tie up station. You could use string if you'd like but I find using chain looks more realistic.

Step 7:

Get a few dolls dressed in riding attire to put around the barn. After all, you need people to take care of the horses!

Step 8:

And of course, you need some horses to put in the barn!! If you're going for a more realistic barn, try to avoid putting unicorns or pink horses in the barn. Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope it helped! :)
