Introduction: How to Make Tavros Horns Part 1- the Base
1. Materials: Scissors, Stapler, Aluminum Foil (about 4 sheets, 2 large and 2 medium), two paper towel rolls, and a sharpie or other bright marker
Paper Towel Rolls- PPT
Step 1:
1.5-2 inches from the end of PPT, mark a red line. this is where you will cut the horn (But not all the way through!)
Step 2:
Puncture the PPT with the scissors, and cut about halfway around on both sides (I stuck the scissors in a bit then cut to the tip of the blade, however this depends on how far in you put the scissors).
Step 3: IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS WHEN FOLDED UP
Step 4:
Now, cut three mediumish cuts on the PPT, like so.
Step 5: Backtracking...
fold the horn over and cut a *TINY* slit. This will make it easier to bend and make the PPT less resistant to bending.
Step 6:
This part is VERY IMPORTANT
wrap the slits around each other to form a cone. STAPLE IT TOWARDS THE TOP.
Step 7: Aluminum Foil Time!
take a large sheet of aluminum, wrap it up, and bend it like so. You will be sticking this up into the horn to provide some sort of stability to it, because hollow Tavros horns will not end well, especially if you wear them often.
Step 8: IT SHOULD LOOK SIMILAR TO THIS AFTER PUTTING IT IN
Step 9: BEND THE EXCESS FOIL AROUND THE OTHER END OF THE PPT
Step 10:
Now take a mediumish sheet of aluminum and wrap it around the pointy part of the horn.
Step 11:
cut a piece of foil in this way, and wrap it around the other foil like this.
take the apex of the semicircle and put it on the part where the tip of the horn is still attached to the PPT then proceed to wrap it.
Step 12: Repeat for the Other Horn!

Step 14: How to Make Tavros Horns Part 2: Papier-Mâché
Materials:
Newspaper
Horn Base
1 Cup of Flour
1/4-1 Cup of Water
Salt
Whisk
Cutting Board or Pan
Large Bowl
Step 15: Papier-Mâché Mix
Add 1 cup flour into bowl. Stir until there are no lumps. Add 1/4 to 1 Cup of water, depending on the consistency desired. Mine was about as viscous as olive oil; you can make yours thinner or thicker (although I wouldn't recommend much thicker than a ketchup-like consistency). Stir until there are no lumps. Add a moderate amount of salt (this will keep it from molding while it dries).
Step 16: Actual Papier-Mâché-ing of the Base
Wrap no more than 4 layers of mixture-soaked newspaper around the entire horn. Let it dry COMPLETELY (this will take about a day). If you aren't happy with the thickness, add another 1-4 layers. The easiest way is to wrap starting at the open PPT end and ending on the point of the horn.
Step 17: Finished First 4 Layers

After you finish, set them off to the side to dry.
