Introduction: How to Solve the Rubiks Cube Faster (Part 1)
Saw my other instructable and want to know how to solve the Rubik's cube faster
this instructable will teach the first part of the Fridrich Method known as f2l witch stands for First 2 Layers.
The Fridrich Method was created by Jessica Fridrich to solve the Rubik's cube faster by solving the first two layers then the top.
if you don't already know how to solve the Rubik's cube then I highly suggest that you check out my instructable on how to solve a Rubik's cube
Some of you may be wondering why i wanted to learn to solve the Rubik's cube, well I am very big into math and I am Very good at memorizing things in fact I have an IQ of 120 but you don't need a high iq to learn how to solve the Rubik's cube. I learn the beginners method last Christmas when I was bored on Christmas break and wanted something to do. It only took me a week to learn to solve it, but it wasn't like I was doing it for a week straight 24 hours a day, in fact i probably spent an hour a day max.
But anyways About a month ago I was bored again and saw my Rubik's cube sitting on my Desk just begging me to solve it, so I did but it took me about 5 minutes because I haven't solved it in a long time, I rely wanted to be able to solve it in a minute or less so i did some Google searching and found a bunch of different speed cubing methods. I found one that rely stood out because it was a simple concept but it was also effective. It took me about 2 weeks to learn the speed cubing method known as the Fridrich Method and i can now solve the Rubik's cube in a minute. That is my story of learning how to solve the Rubik's cube.
Step 1: Step 1
For step one you need to get the cross like in the beginners method but don't get the corners yet
Step 2: Step 2
now you need to get a bar with the color of the cross and colors on the side like in the picture
i will show you the different cases to get the the bars in the next steps and how to solve those cases
Step 3: Case #1
to get this into place
with the right side facing you
Ri, F, R, Fi
the opposite of this being
L, Fi, Li, F
Step 4: Case #2
to get this into bar state with the white side facing you , you would do
U, U, Li, U,L
if the colors were switched you would do(with the green side facing you
U, R, Ui, Ri
Step 5: Case #3
the algorithm for this case with the blue side facing you is
R, U, Ri
Step 6: Case #4
the algorithm for this case with the green side facing you is
U, Li, Ui, L
Step 7: Step 3
Now you need to solve the top layer if you don't know how to do that Check out my other Rubik's cube tutorial
this will make you slower at first but the more you practice the faster you will become
Step 8: Finished
Now you can brag to your friends not only that you can solve the Rubik's cube but that you can solve it in less than a minute
Thank you for checking this out please comment if you learned how to solve it or if you have any questions

HAHA A WEEK (an hour a day)... It took me 2 days or 3 hours total to learn the method on the rubiks cube website just recently. Im surprised i even learned it, but now im trying to learn a faster way. My fastest time is 2:45 which is fast enough for me

I learned from my uncle, who taught me in about a day. My fastest time is about 1:03, which I'm still surprised about. I don't think I have a high IQ, but learning to solve it really isn't that hard. I'm trying to find the algorithms used by the robot(s) who can solve it in 4 seconds, and try to get better.

Horrid grammar and clarity for someone who brags about their IQ.

you claim to be "very big into math", "Very good at memorizing things" and " have an IQ of 120" yet I learnt in 1 day at the age of 10.

I completely agree with you, besides ythis post is quite stupid and doesnt help you in solving faster the cube

Dude trust me, you really dont have a 120 iq, cause to begin with you dont have a clue on how writing is done. So please, please stop lying to yourself dumbass

If your IQ is so good show it by making sense of your directions and actually coming up with a decent method.

Makes NO sense

This makes no sense to me. I don't understand what you mean by "a bar with the color of the cross and colors on the side." I don't know what I'm trying to solve there. Can anyone help?

Try this video. It makes much more sense.

It took longer than my method. It said "faster" so I was really expecting it. You are big in math, have an iq of 120, good at memorizing, and took u a week. It just took me 3 hours to learn Rubik's(i was 12 that time), but this took me a day.
