Introduction: How to Add Moss to a Fish Pond

First of all you need to search for Moss!

if you already have a garden there's a slight chance of finding it in your house.

Adding Moss to your Fish Pond will make them happy!

Step 1: Gathering Materials

  • Shovel.
  • Mud.
  • Tray.
  • Moss.

Step 2: Gathering Moss

you can find moss anywhere, banks of the rivers, freeways, gardens and some pots.

Dig a thin layer of moss carefully.

Step 3: Planting Moss

After dropping or layering mud on the tray.

Place all the moss you collected on the tray of mud!

Press the moss properly.

Step 4: Placing Your Moss Into the Pond

directly place the moss into the pond anywhere, but make sure you place it where sunlight can enter so it helps in the growth of plants!

    Terrestrial moss will eventually suffocate and die living submerged. That will cause an ammonia spike that could kill off your pond inhabitants. I really do not recommend finding moss from anywhere and just dunking it in your pond.

    If you are insisting on finding moss, make sure you locate it from an underwater source. Don't take it if there isn't much in the area, if the water feature is polluted, or if you don't see new growth on moss that's been submerged for over a month.

    Please, think of the inhabitants of your pond before you do something like this.

    i just wanted to tell you know that my friend has a pond too and he did the same almost 4 months back! but he hasn't faced any problems... so even i planned on doing it!

    It's almost been a week since i planted the moss! I don't have any problems so far... In case if i notice any change in the fish behavior or fish death! then ill make changes to the tank as well as inform/update the article...
