Question 2 years ago on Step 1

Do the pieces of paper have to be those dimensions? The reason I'm asking is because I've got a box of origami paper but it's in squares so when I fold it & cut out the smaller pieces obviously they're not going to be the same size as they are when you do the same with A4 size paper & also I don't have a ruler - I'm downloading a ruler app as we speak lol but I dunno exactly how big mine are bt I do know that wen I've folded them & turned them over to do the little triangular folds well my bits below the line if u get wot I mean? Well they're a lot longer than yours - I was tempted to jst cut the excess off thinking I cud just carry on making them & then wen I get 2 tht point chop them off but it's a lot of waste so any advice or help will be greatly appreciated & also any criticism welcomed Thank you very much 👍

Hey guys I'm a web student and for a class project I was told to make a website of any of my choosing and I chose to make a website about 3D origami. It would be amazing if some of you can visit my website, http://sweb1.dmit.nait.ca/~dliew4/dmit1528/beginner-3D-origami/ and give me any feedback on what I'm doing right or what I can do better. The images you see on there that are related to origami were made by me featuring the YouTube videos that I have watched.

What are the dimensions of the paper used to construct an average 3D origami model?
