Introduction: How to Make a Cardboard Top-Hat!
In this Instructable I will teach you how to make a stylish Top- hat out of cardboard and tape! (And a few other easily obtainable items.)
Materials used:
- Cardboard
- Tape
- Scissors/Box-cutter
- Paint
- Pencil/Pen
- Compass
Step 1: Making the Brim for the Hat!
On a thick piece of Cardboard measuring 52cm x 52cm (Minimum), poke a hole in the middle. Grab a compass and make a trace a hole 21cm in diameter and another 50cm in diameter. Cut out the center and cut around the larger circle (MAKE SURE TO KEEP CENTER CUT OUT). And now you're finished the Brim!
Step 2: Making the Cylindrical Part of the Top-hat!
Get a JUMBO cereal box (or other piece of cardboard that is thin and flexible) and cut it into several rectangular pieces. Take the 2 larger pieces measuring 34cm x 21cm and tape them into a cylinder that tightly fits into the hole in the Brim. Now you can Tape the Cylinder to the Brim!
Step 3: Making the Top of the Top-hat!
Take the cut out (From Step 1) and tape it to the top of the cylindrical part of the hat. You now are finished building the Top-hat and can move onto Step 4- Finishing Touches!
Step 4: Finishing Touches!!!
You have completed the Basic structure of the hat. You can now paint it and/or add decorations to your liking!
Things you can do with a Top- Hat:
-Wear this stylish Top- Hat around town!
- Put it on the top of your snowman!
