Headlights with a small amount of oxidation, ---- the toothpaste will work ok. Heavy yellowing will require WET-sanding with 350 grit... then 600 grit...then 1200 grit. Then you COULD buff smooth but that will not stop the yellowing. Instead of buffing, dry the lens then spray with a couple coats of gloss clear coat that is non-yellowing. Two kinds are available: Rustoleum(2X) makes one... and Krylon(colormaster) makes one. Painting the clearcoat is TRICKY because you must hold the can far enough away so it doesn't make the paint "run." Hold it too far away, and you may get cloudiness or streaks. If the wind blows while you paint... then it messes it up. It might be better to buff it clear and then add a wax polish to protect it. Toothpaste only works on slightly oxidized lights. Some people claim OFF BUG SPRAY works too, but beware it MELTS THE PLASTIC and overspray may damage your paint. Wouldn't do the bugspray on any nice car. Many kits are sold now in all the stores also. Just wanted everyone to know some other options so they could choose wisely.
