Step 1: Check Your Surroundings
so surviving a plane crash is hard to do, but all you really need is luck. If you survive that is great , that is really rare, but you're not out of the woods yet. Most planes crash occur in areas where civilization is far away. In order to survive you have to get acquainted with your surroundings. If you're in a forest you need to cover yourself in mud or something (just watch predator to get your information.) if you're stuck in the desert the most important thing to find is water.
Step 2: Gather Supplies
in the desert you need water... but just so you know gallons of water don't occur naturally in the wild so if you find one it might be a trap.. be careful
Step 3: Be Wary of Smooth Jazz
you hear Jazz in two places,
1.in the background of really crappy bars
2.used as a theme song to murder people.
If you hear Jazz in the background and you're not in a bar, you're probably going to die.. you can try to run but people who play jazz are of the evilest sort, and have probably already planned exactly how to kill you.. you will die . sorry thats just how the world works.

Make sure your fellow passengers are of the chubby persuasion, Whatever you do- don't get on a plane headed to an anorexic's convention! When all the food is gone, you'll be glad you took this advice.

And cannibalism. Don't forget cannibalism, every decade or so a plane crashes in a remote location like the Andes, survivable but a little sparse in the grocery department, if you know what I mean.
