Image Sensor (CMOS) Ring

The image sensor is an essential part of all digital cameras and it always shines like a rainbow.

Step 1: Sensor Harvesting

These sensors work like a film and convert the image into digital data. You can find different size of sensor in different cameras (Webcams, Photo cameras, security cameras, fpv cameras etc.) I used old webcam circuit.

Step 2: Starting

First of all I desoldered large parts and cables from circuit.

Step 3: Disassembling

I cut off the legs of sensor because I don't have a hot air gun :(

Step 4: Design

I got the measure and prepared 3d design.

Step 5: 3D Printing

I printed the ring as two part for better quality and fit.

Step 6: Shaping

I placed the sensor and started to rough shaping.

Step 7: Carbon Fiber Fill

I cut the strip from thin carbon fiber sheet and and wrapped it around the ring.

Step 8: Final Shaping

Complete shaping with files and sandpaper.

Step 9: Sanding and Polishing

Step 10: And Result
