Introduction: Inspirational Pencils

About: I am a person who just enjoys sitting down in their free time, listening to a podcast or some music, and making a variety of things.

Sometimes all you need is a little bit of inspiration and motivation to help unstick your writers block. With school starting in the fall, summer is the perfect time to make some DIY school supplies.

Enjoy!

Step 1: Supplies

For this project you will need:

  • Pencils
  • a Fine Tip Black Sharpie
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Stencils *optional*

Step 2: Add Some Colors!

Squirt some paint out onto whatever type of pallet you are using and add a layer of paint to a pencil. Let this layer dry before adding a second layer to completely cover the pencil. Move on to the next pencil and the next color until your have colorful pencils.

This is when you would use your stencils to add any shapes to your pencil.

Step 3: Paint Clear

Soon after painting my pencils with their colors they started chipping, making me realize that they needed a clear coat. The closest thing I had on hand is relatively clear paint with sparkles, so I sparklefied my writing utensils!

If you don't have sparkly paint that's okay, but try to find some type of clear paint. Worst case scenario just ditch the clear paint and let nature take its course.

Step 4: Write Some Inspiration

With the pencils painted, use a fine tip Sharpie to write some inspirational words. I wrote three sets of inspiration on each pencil to give myself extra ingenuity.

Step 5: Done!

Put your inspirational pencils into your pencil bag and get ready to be inspired!

Next time you write whip out your pencils and let the inspiration and motivation flow through you.
