Every year cities across the world host a Pride parade in celebration of everything gay! A few weeks ago I made a "classic" wedding card, but then I realized that same-sex wedding cards are not very common. After doing some thinking, today's Instructable is what I designed to help fill the empty hole.

Congratulate the newly made grooms and express your support to those you care about with this super easy card.

Step 1: Supplies

Supplies:

Glue
Tape
Card Base
Card Stock (I used a dark blue, but any color will work)
Pencil
Scissors
a Ruler
Patty paper, or other tracing paper

Step 2: Cut the Cardstock

The first thing you want to do is cut a piece of card stock to match the dimensions of your card base. This should be about 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 but it never hurts to double check.

Step 3: Design

Sketch out a design for your card on the card stock. This tutorial will go over my design that you are more than welcome to use.

For my design I sketched out the tops of two tuxes (one for each groom). This includes the lapels, bow tie, buttons, and dress shirt. The rest of the paper is supposed to be the rest of the suit.

Once you have your design sketched out, place a piece of paper paper or tracing paper over it. If you can't see your pencil marks go over the lapels* with a pen or marker that lets you see the marks. Trace only the lapels onto the patty paper.

* lapels are the collar like things on a tuxedo or suit.

Step 4: Make the Lapels

Tape the patty paper you used in the last step onto a piece of card stock. Then cut out the lapels using the traced design as a guide.

Step 5: Add the Lapels

Cut out the triangles at the top of the card, as shown in the first image above. Put these aside, you will use them later. Then glue the triangle-less card stock onto the front of the card base so that the empty spaces are at the top of the card. Once this is glued down glue the lapels (the things you made in the previous step) down so that they match up with the lines you drew in the the second and third steps.

Step 6: Make the "Accessories"

To make the accessories (bow ties and buttons) grab the two triangle pieces cut out in the previous step. These two pieces should each have a bow tie and three circles drawn on them. First cut out the six circles (3 from each) and set them on the white spaces of the card to ensure they are not lost.

Then make the bow tie. To do this cut out the double triangle you drew above the circles that were just cut out. Then cut a thin and short piece of card stock and wrap it around the center of the double triangles as shown in the above image.

At the end of this step you should have 2 bow ties and 6 circles (buttons).

Step 7: Add the "Accessories"

At this point glue all the buttons and bow ties onto the white showing triangles of the card. Press down a little especially on the bow ties to make sure they stay in place.

Technically your card is done, but if it looks a little bare to you add a word or two at the bottom right of the card. Words like "congratulations" and "Mr. & Mr." are always good.
