Hello everyone.I had a broken laptop which does not work so...I was thinking to throw it but I discovered some ways to re-use its parts..which may reduce E-waste.

In this instructables I Will show how you can make your own LED panel by reusing broken laptop display for book reading in dark, writing,Lighting pages and also for drawing such as line tracing etc.All the parts are collected from old broken laptop display.

This LED light panel works on 3-4 volts. It's size is larger than A4 paper.

Supplies

After opening the laptop display we have to take out the LED strip, transparent acrylic sheet and a white plastic sheet also the metal frame.

metal frame is used to hold all the parts togather so..and also the panel will be strong.

Step 1: Modification

In my case I found a LED driven circuit in the display lower side, which I cant use to cause there are lot of signl wires...so I modified the LED strip by rmoving the connections from all the LEDs and connecting every LED in parallel, so that we can glow every led togather.

After completing connections we have 2 common lines which are positive and negative.

I attached a long wire to the lines so that I can power it up.

Step 2: Assembling

After completing the LED modification I checked the LED strip by powering it with a 3volt liion battery(18650) and that's working well, so I attached the LED strip directly with the transparent acrylinc sheet got from the display with transparent cello tape.

NOTE - Before covering make sure there is no short circuit (that can damage the LED strip).

Step 3: Covering

The white plastic sheet from the laptop display also attached with the acrylic sheet which will work as a reflector.

Then joint the LED strip cover and attached the metal frame and test it.

In dark room it looks awesome.

Step 4: Test

Now the light panel is ready for reading, writing and drawing in dark or low lights area.

Some photos are attached.

This panel can also be used for photography as I used it in my video.
