Making a Hot Glue Gun that is Safe, Long Lasting, Energy Efficient & Gives Fast Response.

A Silicone Gun or a hot glue gun is a really useful device especially in the world of creativity.

This project is really safe from every point of view coz the bulb used in this project will glow under any abnormality.This circuit is also energy efficient since it consumes a max. power of just 3W when compared to the cheap 15W hot glue guns.

Step 1: Construction:

A piston from a syringe glued to a part of PCB.Both being held together with the help of a dragon clip.

The function of PCB is to prevent the heat from getting distributed to the entire body of silicon gun.

A 13009 power transistor is used as the heating source.

Power transistor used here is responsible for converting this glue gun into an energy efficient one.The circuit uses a 1 kilo ohm resistor for base collector connection.

Step 2: Full Protection:

Here a 12 volt bulb has been used to protect the power transistor the power supply unit and control over heat.

The bulb will glow only if the circuits suffers fault.

The recommended power supply is 12 to 15 volts DC.Here the bulb is connected in series with the circuit. the maximum power consumption of circuit 3 watts.

Step 3: Cone Making:

Take a small semicircle aluminium sheet and make a cone as shown in the picture above.The cone will be connected to the heat sink of the power transistor.The glue stick with pass through the wider end of the cone.The circuit diagram is given in the last step.

Just connect a 12 to 15 volt supply to this device.The Cone will start heating up really fast.

Your glue gun is complete.
