Introduction: Make a Pirate Eye Patch for Your Kids or Masquerade (halloween)...
Halloween is coming up soon and maybe you or your kids are about to dress up as a pirate?
This is an easy instruction on how you make your own pirate eye patch out of old package cardboard (from an old souppackage, kellogs etc)...

Step 1: Draw Your Eye Patch on the Board...
Use a pen and draw the shape of your eye patch. Don't make it to small. It's easy to make it smaller later on...
Step 2: Cut It Out...
Use a pair of scissors and cut out your shape.
As you can see in the picture, I changed my mind and cut it abit larger then I drew..

Step 3: Make a Cut in the Middle
Since we want the eye patch to have a similar shape as a bought one, we need to make it bulge abit. To do this we are going to make a cut from the lower part, up to the center.
Step 4: Use a Stapler to Fix It.
Next up we are going to bulge the cardboard by putting one edge over the other. If you want you can at this point use fast drying glue, but I preferred to use a stapler instead.
As you can see in the second image here, The corners are visible. Cut them of to make the shape even.

Step 5: Permanent Marker or Black Paint, Your Choice.
We're almost done now, but we need some nice black colour on the front first.
I used a black permanent marker pen but you can use any black paint aswell.

Step 6: A Piece of Elastic Makes It Stay on Head.
Let us make something that will keep the eye patch in place. Lets attach a piece of elastic.
First we need to cut out small holes on each side of the patch. Use a knive with a sharp end, but be careful so you don't tear the cardboard apart (slice through border).
My holes are ready.
Attach the elastic band on each side and you're done.
Preferably you could use a black piece of elastic instead of white (as I did since it was what I had at home atm)
Happy Halloween!
