A happy-ending story for Spring! Last year our neighbours' grandson found a baby pigeon in the town. It had fallen out of its nest presumably and was hiding in some fruit crates, which were about to go on the dust cart. He brought the baby back home and gave it to us. It has turned into a very sleek and self-confident bird and a couple of months ago he paired off with one of our fantails. For the past weeks they have been in hiding under the nest boxes in the hen house. So yesterday whilst the they were out feeding we finally had a look to see what you get when a fantail and a town pigeon become a Mummy and Daddy....
