Shoeboxes are useful for many things. Recently I have been wanting to build a zip line to carry stuff across a creek near my house. This would be useful for when you want to transport something from place to place but don't want to go the distance. I decided to build it with paracord so that I can enter the paracord challenge. Also, this is my first instructable, so if you have any recommendations or advice, please comment so that I can improve on future instructables.

Step 1: Supplies

The things that I used to build this zipline include two equal length lines of paracord, an old shoe box, two zip ties, two small pulleys, and a pocket knife.
*Note: the lines of paracord should be the length that you want your zipline to be.

Step 2: Prepare Your Shoe Box

Poke a hole in the center of each short side of the shoe box, making sure that the hole is about an inch from the top. On of the sides that you poked a hole in, poke two more holes directly 1 inch under the original hole.

I originally poked my top holes to close to the top.

Step 3: Add Your Pulleys.

This step is very easy. Simply place a zip tie through one of the top holes and and though the bottom of the pulley. Then repeat this step on the other side.

Step 4: Add the Paracord to the Shoebox

Thread one of your paracord lines through the two holes you made on one side of your box. Then tie a knot to secure the paracord to the shoe box.

Step 5: Put Up Your Zipline.

Tie your second paracord to the base of your destination. I used a tree at the lower side of the creek. Then place your pulleys onto the paracord line. At this point, secure the top side of your second paracord to your higher altitude base.

Step 6: Use Your Zipline

Place whatever you want to transport in the shoebox. Attaching a gopro to the zipline is one thing that I would like to add on in the future. Once you have run the shoebox down the zipline, Use the paracord that is tied to your shoebox to pull the shoebox back to the top.
