Introduction: Quick & Easy Gemstone Pendant

This is a super quick and easy way to get that wire wrapped pendant look without breaking bank. The gemstones were about $.50 on eBay and the wire was $2.99. You don't need pliers or other fancy tools, but they also don't hurt.

Step 1: BoM

Pointed gemstones (mine all came from eBay)

Jewelry wire

Epoxy

Wire snips, jewelry pliers

Jewelry fiindings/cords

Step 2: Glue

Depending on how big your stone is and how much wire you want, I say 8" is a good place to start. Place your gemstone in the center of the wire and wrap the two ends around the 1-2 times and then add some epoxy. The epoxy I'm using dries clear so I'm not too worried about using a lot (except that drying time will be affected).

I added a decent sized glob (I also can't control the epoxy when the cap is off) and then wrapped the rest of the wire around the stone several more times.

Step 3: Twist

When I got to about 1" of wire left, I started twisting the ends together. This will become your bail, you can either slide a jump ring into the center or just attach straight to your cord. But first you have to get the ends twisted together. Also, push down the very ends so you don't stab yourself on the wire.

Step 4: Loop

Using needle nose pliers, I wrapped the twisted end down into a loop and around itself. Then I added more epoxy because better safe than sorry.

Step 5: Dry

Allow the glue to dry 24-72 hours before attaching to a cord and wearing. Just to be on the safe side. Also, using a jump ring will help keep your pendant sitting and facing the way it should, not twisting all over the place.
