Introduction: Shaggy Rug That Lights Up at Night
Rug that lights up at night
Step 1: What You'll Need
-Wool
-Hot glue and hot glue gun
-LED strip
-Prototype pcb board
-Transistor - General purpose NPN
-Scissors
-Resistor
-Photoresistor
Step 2:
For this project a non-skid rug is needed, since I didn't have one, I decided to make one using hot glue.
If you already have a non-skid rug then you may skip this step
-Draw the desired shape on a paper using hotglue; a parchment paper would be better to use
-Draw diagonal lines to form a "net"
Step 3:
-Wrap the wool around your four fingers
-Take off the wrapped wool from your fingers. Use another piece of wool to tie the wrapped wool in the middle
-After you have a good amount of them, start Tie the pompoms on your non-skid rug using the piece of wool you used to tie the pompom in the middle. When you finish cut the excess of wool in the back of your rug.
-Cut the edges to form a pompom
Step 4:
- After making sure the circuit works, transfer it to a pcb board and solder it...replace the LEDs with your LED strip lights
Step 5:
Glue the circuit on the battery pack of the LED strip
Step 6:
-"Thread" the LED strip through the carpet
