Soap is a wonderful thing and has prevented many a man (and woman) from catching a life-threatening disease. Indeed, one of the greatest medical breakthroughs came when doctors started to wash their hands with soap and water between inspecting different patients.

Soap can become soggy at its base without drying out in a soap dish. This instructable sets out to stop this from happening. It is achieved by placing the soap on top of the wire from a sparkling wine bottle. While this would work by itself it is enhanced by gluing a couple of supports into a dish made from an empty aluminum beverage can.

The aluminum dish also makes for an excellent peanut nibbles tray.

Step 1: Making the Dish

The aluminum dish is made by:

Cutting halfway around the ends of a can.
Cut down the top center.
Trim the edges with a pair of scissors to make them straight.
Foldeach side over to form stabilizing feet which will prevent the can from rolling.
Cut half of the circular ends off.
